The Creative versus the Competitive Planes

In The Master Key System, by Charles Haanel, he describes the methods by which people do more than just interact with their jobs on a technical level. He describes how some people are lucky and how other people seem to always have to fight for what they want. It’s a book about how the conscious mind, subconscious mind, and formless universal energy all come into contact with each other.

In Haanel’s book, he describes how people who interact on the competitive plane, believing that there is not enough to go around, are setting themselves up for continuous failure. He says that those who work on the creative plane only find themselves in much better positions in life, with a lot more unexplained good luck thrown at them, than those who go merely by what they see with their own eyes.

When you are competing for resources, then the notion of poverty enters the mind and you are negatively affected by whatever action you take. However, if you keep in mind that everyone has enough, and hold this abundance philosophy, then you are looking for ways to make yourself more abundant creatively, rather than competitively. The results are very different from these two approaches.

It is now seen that building the quality of your business, rather than trying to subvert your competition in the business marketplace, may actually be far more effective. It is now supposed that perhaps people really would be happier if they could get past their own short term goals, and start planning for many years down the road. In this way, businesses would be strengthened by new blood, not made weaker by employee turnover. Long term visions are necessary for any company to succeed.
